The classification of solid mineral fuels has been carried out and the main indicators of its quality have been determined - the heat of combustion, humidity, total sulfur content, ash content, volatile matter yield, as well as parameters of particle size and fractional composition. The analysis of these indicators allowed us to create a hierarchy of their definitions for different states of fuel. Based on this hierarchy, the evaluation of the uncertainty of measurements of tests of parameters of solid mineral fuel was systematized. All identified sources of uncertainty were analyzed. The model equations were synthesized for the main solid mineral fuel's test methods by quality parameters. The method for estimating the uncertainty of double parallel measurements used in the testing of solid mineral fuel by their quality parameters has been improved. The methods for estimating the uncertainty of measurements have been improved, taking into account previously unaccounted sources of uncertainty, such as deviations of the sizes of sieve holes from nominal when performing particle size analysis, as well as deviations of liquid density from nominal when performing float-and-sink analysis. The procedures for estimating the uncertainty of measurements of selected parameters of the quality of solid mineral fuel have been developed. The interrelated budgets of uncertainty and software for automating the processing of results and calculating the uncertainty of measurements were worked out. A generalized quality parameter of solid mineral fuel was synthesized based on the express quality assessment method.
