Essay

In the dissertation research the problem of the formation of information culture of students of the faculties of arts of pedagogical universities is considered. The information culture of a teacher of musical art is personal education, which implies awareness of musical art and its teaching methods, the existing need and ability to expand it, selection and evaluation of artistic phenomena embodied in professional activities, and readiness for reflective self-determination. Considering that the specificity of artistic information provides for emotional fullness of influence, which is not conveyed by standard normalized language, we emphasize the importance of comprehending artistic imagery as the basis for understanding artistic information. The structure of the information culture of future teachers of musical art covers orientation-motivational, cognitive-communicative, creative-activity components. The orientation-motivational component involves the ability of students to choose the necessary information sources, interest in the artistic information and its evaluation. The cognitive-communicative component is oriented on the acquisition of knowledge, skills and abilities of future music teachers of the chosen specialty, solving informational educational and independent tasks as a means of active influence on students. The creative-activity component is conditioned by the need to predict the informational and artistic development of students, their ability to creative activity. As a result of the formative experiment, a significant increase in quantitative and qualitative indicators of the formation of information culture of students of the experimental group was recorded, which indicates the effectiveness and efficiency of the developed step-by-step methodology for the formation of information culture of future music teachers in the process of vocational training.
