Savchenko S. Therapeutic and diagnostic tactics in patients with acute nonspecific parapneumonic pleural empyema.

The research was performed on the basis of the "Zaporizhzhia City Hospital ambulance and emergency medical aid" and Zaporozhe State Medical University during 2015-2018. The study included 124 patients diagnosed with acute nonspecific parapneumonic pleural empyema.The purpose of the dissertation is to improve the results of surgical treatment of patients with acute nonspecific parapneumonic pleural empyema by improving of the methods of instrumental diagnostics and the use of VATS interventions.The work is based on the results of own observations, clinical, instrumental, laboratory methods of research and treatment, including surgical treatment of patients with acute nonspecific parapneumonic pleural empyema. The immediate results of treatment were evaluated.Patients were randomly assigned to two groups by envelope method. For the diagnosis of the stage of the disease in the main group, data from the intraoperative picture and the results of the morphological study of the pleural biopsy that were obtained during VATS were used. In patients of the comparison group, the diagnosis of the stage was based on the results of sonography of the pleural cavities. Material for the study was obtained during pleural puncture or directly during surgery.
