In the dissertation the analysis of theoretical approaches to the study of the problem of formation of professional competences of future teachers in the process of studying chemistry is carried out; the essence of the concept "professional competence in chemistry of future teachers of non-chemical specialties" is revealed, the structural components (cognitive, activity, motivational, methodical), indicators and levels (high, sufficient, medium, low) of the studied quality are determined. The features of formation of professional competence of future teachers in the process of studying chemistry are investigated. The expediency of formation of professional competences in chemistry among future teachers of physics, geography, technology is theoretically proved. The model is proved, the technique of formation of professional competences of future teachers in the process of studying chemistry is developed and tested. Its efficiency and expediency of introduction in process of professional training of future teachers in higher educational institutions is proved
