Kryknitska I. English Phraseological Units with Culinary Сomponent: Structural, Semantic and Cultural Aspects.

The thesis presents a study of English phraseological units with the culinary component from structural, semantic, cultural and cognitive perspectives. Phraseological semantics, cultural and cognitive linguistics outline theoretical and methodological framework of the research. These linguistic approaches emphasize thatit is phrasicon that facilitates the research of the correlation and interrelation of language and culture. The thesis considers culinary phraseological units as collocations bound by the unity of integral content and fully or partially reconceptualized metaphorical meaning that denote: 1) culinary products; 2) ingredients; 3) culinary processes; 4) taste categories; 5) drinks. They are based on stereotypes, characterized by expressiveness, and serve as representations of culture.
