Essay

Based on a comprehensive scientific analysis of the educational process in modern medical (pharmaceutical) institutions of higher education (M(P)IHE), this thesis has been for the first time theoretically substantiated, developed and experimentally tested the effectiveness of teaching methods of analytical chemistry when applied to the students of pharmaceutical specialties with the use of the information technologies (IT). The structure and component-based composition of the methodology includes didactically feasible and structured content: full-text training materials and an electronic training course (ETC) entitled "Analytical Chemistry"; forms of blended learning: using both traditional and IT like lectures, video lectures, training sessions, e-workshops, webinars and so on; methods of blended learning: traditional teaching/training methods (verbal, visual, practical) and methods of e-distance learning using research and NEURON educational information system run at Bohomolets National Medical University; computer-assisted learning tools (CALTs): e-libraries, cloud-technology-based tools, network and e-distance learning technologies, educational portal, modern mobile tools, e-social networks. To apply effectively the methodology of teaching analytical chemistry to the students of pharmaceutical specialties using IT, the organizational and pedagogical conditions have been specified and characterized, namely: 1) creation of informational and educational environment at M(P)IHE, whose component is the scientific and educational information system of the institution; 2) fostering motivation of students to acquire IT education, motivation of students to training and professional activity in the settings of informatisation of the educational process of analytical chemistry; 3) provision of a professionally oriented context to the scientific and methodological resourcing of training in analytical chemistry using IT; 4) involvement of students in the activity of mastering skills of using network electronic scientific and educational-methodical resources simulating new services of electronic health care system of Ukraine. There has been designed and proved feasibility of the model of application of teaching methods to deliver Analytical Chemistry to the students of pharmaceutical specialties with the use of IT, including the components like purpose, organizational and pedagogical, content and technological, diagnostic, and result-based. There has been worked out the structure discipline-under-study-related competence of students of pharmaceutical specialties, which comprises the components like motivational, knowledge, professionalism and functionality, socio-psychological. It is along with criteria (motivational and value, cognitive, professionalism and functionality, social and psychological), indicators and levels (initial, average, sufficient, high) of its formation. It has been substantiated that the professional competence of the Masters-to-be in Pharmacy is an indicator of the effectiveness of incorporation of the methodology of Chemistry training using IT in the educational process of the contemporary M(P)IHE.
