Shulga S. The Semantico-Syntactic Features of Ukrainian and English Paroemias: a Contrastive and Typological Aspect

The thesis is devoted to the contrastive research of the Ukrainian and English paroemias semantico-syntactic structure and to the establishing of isomorphic and allomorphic features of their functioning. In the process of work, the classification of Ukrainian and English paroemias have been carried out by taking into consideration the elementary and non-elementary organization of their semantico-syntactic structure. The Ukrainian and English paroemias semantico-syntactic correlation have also undergone a detailed analysis (phenomena of equivalence). The common and distinctive features pursuant to oppositional and comparative semantics have been found out. The thesis discloses the coincidences and differences in the light of the cultural codes in the paroemias structure of both comparable languages.
