The thesis is devoted to the understanding of the understandding of the of the concept of dhyana in the doctrine of yoga. New fragments of texts are studied, in contrast to existing research. The roots of the consept of dhyana are shown in the earliest texts of the Vedic period. Conclusions are made on the properties of dryana in relation tj consciousness and its snfluence on thoughts of practitioners.
