The dissertation deals with the problem of formation of conducting and choral competence of the future teacher of musical art in the conditions of pedagogical practice. It has been proved that the conductor-choral competence of a teacher of music art is an integrated personal quality, which implies the possession of a complex of knowledge, skills in the field of choral art, the formation of a value attitude to national and world vocal-choral, as well as the experience of practical work with the choir. According to the results of the study, the structure of conductor-choral competence of teachers of music art includes: motivational, purposeful, cognitive-professional, activity-reflexive and creatively independent components. The leading principles of formation of conductor-choral competence of future music teachers in the process of pedagogical practice are defined: the principle of close connection of theory with practice; principle of integrative study of disciplines of conductor-choral cycle; the principle of reflexivity, which targets the future teachers of music art on conscious perception and performance of vocal and choral works. The technique of formation of conductor-choral competence of future teachers of musical art in the process of pedagogical practice was successfully tested during the stages of a formative experiment, namely: motivational-organizational, technologically productive, value-self-regulatory and consciously creative. The results of the experimental and experimental work prove the successful implementation and effectiveness of the experimental stage-by-stage methodology developed by us, which ensures the formation of the conductor-choral competence of the future music teacher in the process of pedagogical practice.
