The dissertation is devoted to a comprehensive critical analysis of the historical and theological features of the process of institutionalization of the Churches of Christians of the Evangelical Church from 1929 to 1939 as a determining factor in shaping the identity of the Ukrainian Pentecostal movement. The study is based on a methodological vision of the classic Pentecostal movement as a modernization transformation of Ukrainian Protestantism. Establishing the identity of classical Ukrainian Pentecost is shown to be associated with institutionalization in Western Ukraine in the interwar period of the Church of Evangelical Christians. This institutionalization, initiated by the Assembly of God in the United States, was carried out under the direction of the Eastern European Mission, headed by G. Schmidt. The institutionalization of Ukrainian classical Pentecostalism included the adoption by the union of Christians of the faith of the evangelical congregational model of church arrangement, the formation of theoretical and practical theology with a view to comprehending the signs of baptism by the Holy Spirit, and the formation of a special way of religious and religious life. The formation of orthodoxy and orthopraxy of the classical Ukrainian Pentecostal movement was a new reformation for individual communities and Ukrainian Protestantism as a whole. The legacy of this movement is relevant today not only in the identity of classical Ukrainian Pentecost, but also in its theology.
