The dissertation research is devoted to the actual problem of forming the attention of future music teachers in the process of piano preparation. The general scientific concepts of attention are reviewed and the state of scientific and methodical development of the studied problem is analyzed. The classification of vigilance, characterized by its property and function is shown. The phenomenon of "performance attention", its content and component structure have been clarified. In the study, performer's attention is defined as a complex psychic phenomenon that guides and accompanies the cognitive processes of a musician-performer, reflecting the dynamics of their course at different stages of work on a musical work, and manifests itself in the focus throughout the search, detailing and realization of their own performing-conceptual interpretation. The algorithm of unfolding of the music-performing process is specified and the spheres of manifestation of performing attention at each of its stages are defined. The potential of piano training in the formation of performing attention has been revealed and the specifics of its formation during various types of musical performing activity (solo performance, independent work on a piece of music, reading from a sheet, accompaniment, transposition, ensemble playing) have been revealed. Criteria and indicators of assessment, diagnostic methodology and levels of formation of performing attention of future teacher of music art have been developed. The organizational-methodical model is developed, which includes the purpose, tasks, approaches, principles, pedagogical conditions, stages, methods and forms of work, pedagogical result. The importance of using axiological, activity, individual-differential approaches is substantiated. The efficiency of the step-by-step method of forming the performing attention of future music teachers has been experimentally proved.
