Essay

The dissertation is devoted to theoretical substantiation and empirical study of psychological peculiarities of language interconnection and thinking in the study of foreign language by students of medical specialties and conditions under which maximum efficiency of their development is achieved. On the principles of genetic psychology the model of development of thinking of medical students in studying a foreign language is developed. The model of interdependence of thinking and speech in the study of foreign language by medical students is presented, represented by three factors: "flexible verbalization - central syntagmatic linguistic associativity", "imaginative activity - associative logical preference", "associativity - paritymatics. The paper presents the express methods of evaluating the activity of foreign language speech and thinking by registering its performance in tasks of different types (training tasks on separate topics for non-standard solution of creative tasks for a limited period of time). The models of associative reactions on the material of the native and foreign (German) language are constructed, in particular the features of logical (central, peripheral) and grammatical reaction (syntagmatic, paradigmatic) are established. The matrix of associative reactions in the native language was constructed. It is established that the thinking of medical students is dominated by central logical reactions. However, a significant proportion are also answers pertaining to peripheral logical reactions. An increase in syntagmatic reactions is established, which testifies to the complexity of thinking, the ability to identify similar objects and their features, syncretism, complexity. However, the increase in syntagmatic reactions indicates a lack of analytical operations and some infantilism of thinking. A matrix of associative reactions in German is constructed.
