Essay

The author has studied the influence of using simultaneously different mulching materials and irrigation on the black currant cultivars growth, development and productivity. The results of the theoretical and experimental researches have shown, that the simultaneous use of the drop irrigation and mulching with weed mat and straw contribute to the more intensive processes of the plants growth. The highest patches productivity is provided by the use of irrigation and mulching with weed mat and straw. Those processes increase the content of organic acids, vitamin С and dry substances in berries. The economic efficiency has been substantiated of growing black currant cvs under different systems of the soil management in the round-of-bush belts. The highest index of income has been determined when weed mat and straw are used as mulch in the cultivars Musa and Melodiya plantations.
