Popovych O. Terrorist act: the concept, component elements of a crime, qualification.

The thesis is the first systematic and comprehensive criminal research devoted to the terrorist act concept, features and actual problems of this crime qualification, carried out on the basis of the Criminal Code of Ukraine of the year 2001. The complexity of this cognitive process is characterized, first of all, by the study and analysis of the «terrorist act» concept and its features in the international law, foreign and Ukrainian criminal law. The legislation of Ukraine on terrorist acts has been considered in the historical, modern and perspective aspects. On the basis of the obtained achievements, the thesis study substantiates expediency of improvement of the criminal legislation of Ukraine concerning part 2 Art. 22 of the Criminal Code, as well as the title of Art. 258 of the Criminal Code, the disposition of its parts 1−3, by supplementing this article with a new note. The author's definition of «terrorism» concept has been also formulated, with the justification of its entering to the Law of Ukraine «On combatting terrorism».
