In the dissertation, for the first time in Ukrainian linguistics, the logistics terminology is analyzed in the complex. Logistics is a new extensively developed activity; therefore it is natural to increase the attention of subject specialists and terminologists to rapidly widened with new nominations terminology. The origin and evolution of the basic logistics terms are investigated. The approaches to genetic analysis of terms, its terminological derivation and lexico-grammatical characteristics are determined. This thesis also represents such area of linguistic analysis of the studied terminological system as the principles of its lexicographic processing. The donors of logistics terminological system such as management, marketing, accounting, price fixing, international relations, transport, computer science, technology, engineering, law, mathematics, military affairs, trade, customs, and records are detailed characterize. A large number of training manuals on logistics in which there are the terminological dictionaries-minima, scientific works, articles by leading experts of this industry are involved. It caused to ensuring the objectivity in this analysis. The features of the terms, preterms, quasi-terms, and nomens in the Ukrainian logistics terminological system are analyzed; the differences between the concepts of “terminology” and “terminology” are described.
