Essay

Research objects were processes of growth, development and productivity formation of chickpea cultivars depending on seeding rates, fertilizers, and elements of growing technology intensification, as well as the specifics of their interactions under edaphic and climatic conditions of the Western Forest Steppe of Ukraine. The aim of the research was to reveal the specifics of formation of the chickpea’s productivity under conditions of the Western Forest Steppe of Ukraine depending on the type of cultivar, seeding rates, fertilizing system elements, application of herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides, i.e. on factors that are basic in current technology models. Several research methods were used including (1) field methods to reveal the relation between the research object and meteorological factors and elements of technology, (2) visual methods to establish phenological phases of growth and development of chickpea plants, (3) chemical methods to reveal the content of nutrition elements in the soil, (4) biochemical methods to determine grain quality parameters, (5) calculation-and-weighting method to establish parameters of yield structure and to determine grain productivity, (6) comparative mathematical method to establish economic and energetic effectiveness, (7) statistical methods such as dispersion, correlation, and regression analyses and research data visualization. The thesis presents research results on the productivity of chickpea cultivars depenting on growing technology intensification elements under condition of the Western Forest Steppe. Applied in husbandries of Lviv Oblast, Ukraine on an area of 15 ha. Range of use — agriculture.
