The dissertation is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of the formation and development of the concept of solidarity in Ukraine based on the experience of the EU member states. The signs of the history of the development of scientific knowledge of the functional purpose of the concept of solidarity have been identified, the periodization of the history of its formation has been identified and the country where it is widespread is outlined. The theoretical and methodological basis for the study of the concept of solidarity was developed, as well as the conceptual-categorical apparatus of the concept of solidarity was determined. The social and ideological foundations of the formation of the concept of solidarity are described, on the basis of which the essence of the concept of solidarity is revealed, based on the views of European thinkers and representatives of political and legal thought of Ukraine. The analysis of state and law in the concept of solidarity allowed to determine their general patterns of formation, functioning and development. An extremely important role of culture in the formation and development of the concept of solidarity was found out. The theoretical model of the hypothetical possibility of reforming the institutions of state power and civil society in Ukraine in the aspect of the concept of solidarity is considered, taking into account the fact that no political ideology can be considered obligatory. Taking into account the relevant international legal standards and foreign experience, proposals have been developed for defining the role of the concept of solidarity in implementing the strategic course of Ukraine on European integration.
