Essay

The thesis is devoted to the complex cultural and anthropological analysis of the hairstyle transformations as the instruments of initiation in different social and cultural contexts. The scientific novelty of the research work is considered in the development of the author’s cultural and anthropological concept of the hairstyle as the factor of initiation in different cultures, the changes in the hairstyle itself are one of the indicators of the cultural transformations that are still in the latent phase. The new direction in the philosophical and anthropological researches has been suggested, that is philosophical and anthropological hermeneutics of creative corporeality. To achieve the more significant status in the approximation of the perfect image any person in the hierarchy system needs to pass through the boundaries of the cultural and anthropological tradition of the ceremonial and ritual scheme of the general matrix of the process of individual transformation of the human personality and the collective way of legitimization of this process by the society. In this process of transformation, the personality uses the acceptable types of masks as the sources of archaic reaction to the primitive rituals of initiation that in modern society are demonstrated through the hairstyle, its symbolic fullness, significance, metaphysical value. That is why the topicality of the study of hairstyle in the initiation as a cultural and anthropological phenomenon is one of the ideological universals as the specific type of relationship between the essence and the reality of a person that is able to provide the opportunity for the cultural and spiritual fulfillment of human existence
