Essay

The object of the research is the process of functioning of the box bearing bearings of freight wagons. The problems posed in the dissertation were solved using modern scientific methods of probability theory, reliability theory and mathematical statistics. When constructing calculation models of durability of boot knots methods of theoretical and construction mechanics were used. The research of the stressed-deformed state of the elements of the box bearing units was carried out using the elasticity theory and the finite element method (MCE). The scientific task of improving the methods for assessing the durability of the bucket units of freight cars by taking into account their actual loading, depending on the probabilistic nature of the operating loads and speeds, was solved. . This allowed with the greater precision already at the stage of designing freight wagons to predict the life of the boot knots and to increase the efficiency of the use of the car park.
