Pak I. Academic culture of Ukrainian students: factors of formation and features of manifestation

Object: Academic Culture of Ukrainian Students. Aim: a sociological study conceptualization of the students’ academic culture phenomenon, features of manifestation and factors of its formation in Ukrainian society. Research methods: analysis and synthesis, generalization and comparison, historical-genetic method, document analysis, questionnaires, focus group interviews, in-depth interviews, grouping and classification, correlation and factor analysis. Theoretical and practical results: the practical paradigm is applied, particularly the statement about the "background" nature and the "revealing" nature of everyday practices; the functions of academic culture are highlighted and characterized; the sociological definition of the concept "academic culture of students" is formulated; the empirical indicators of students’ academic culture are determined; a sociological interpretation of the academic culture structure at different levels of its manifestation is presented. Novelty: conceptualization of studying of students' academic culture, its factor conditionality and features of manifestation. The degree of implementation: results contributed to the improvement of courses "Sociology of Culture", "Sociology of Education" and "Methodology of Teaching Socio-Political Disciplines" at the School of Sociology V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.
