Koval I. Increasing of the region ecological safety level by the integrated system of household waste management

In the dissertation work the actual scientific-practical task, such as increasing of the region ecological safety level by the integrated system of household waste management, is solved. The main tendencies of the development of waste management methods and systems based on system analysis of domestic and foreign literature sources were revealed, which made it possible to substantiate the need to improve the approaches to the organization and construction of an efficient integrated waste management system. Mathematical models of integrated waste management system because of their decomposition, based on matrix equations of the quality index of the environment were developed. This made it possible to create a geo-relational database model. Classification of packaging waste as an information tool for their sorting was developed. It supplies the opportunity for further progress to develop a wide range of effective management of packaging waste and acceptable methods for their recycling and utilization. Complex analysis of the impact of the Lviv household waste landfill on the environment has been carried out and the fact of contamination of soils, surface, and underground waters has been established. The main source of environmental pollution is infiltration, which is formed because of atmospheric precipitation and processes occurring in the “body” of the landfill. Recommendations for improvement of the ecological state and soil cover of the territories adjacent to the Lviv household waste landfill have been developed. The approaches to organization of integrated management system of household waste in the region are developed. The methodology of household waste sorting at the local level is developed, the feature of which is the sorting of all household waste, which makes it possible to minimize the amount of waste at landfills and save money on the construction of sorting enterprises. Stages of the waste management process for residential complexes are defined and monitoring schemes, integrated control, waste management, and minimization of waste generation are proposed.
