Thesis of the scientific degree of the Candidate of the Technical Sciences (Ph.D.) in specialty 05.15.02 – Underground mining of mineral deposits. – Dnipro University of Technology, Dnipro, 2019. The thesis is devoted to the solution of the current for coal mining industry the scientific and technical problem of substantiation of the design and technological selective seam mining scheme with leaving rock in the goaf, which is solved by using the revealed relationships of the stress-strain state changes in the coal-bearing massif, the parameters of stope and excavation roof support loadings, influence of determining technological parameters of rock strips constructed by mechanical method. On the basis of current requirements for technological schemes for mining thin flat coal seams, a justification of the selective mining technological scheme, the method and technology of placing rock in the worked out space have been carried out by computation of coal and wall rock undercut extraction parameters, establishing the dependencies of the technological ash content on the values of the wall rock undercutting and the adopted seam extraction scheme, the volumes of leaving rocks and density of worked out filling space. The executed analysis the state of the art view of geomechanical processes occurring in the rock massif while longwall work maintains, operation of rock leaving in the goaf, made it possible to develop the multifaceted approach to determining the rational parameters of systems interaction “coal-bearing massif – mechanized roof support – rock strip” providing high-efficiency work of the longwall mining operations.
