Dissertation for obtaining a scientific degree of the Doctor of the Technical Sciences on specialty 05.15.02 “Underground mining of mineral deposits” (18 – Production and Technology) - State Higher Education Institution "Donetsk National Technical University" Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Pokrovsk, 2021. In the thesis the actual scientific problem of advancement of scientific bases of protection of development roadways in the conditions of soft adjoining rocks has been solved. The analysis of scientific and technical prerequisites for engineering of effective resource-saving technology of protection of development roadways behind the faces has been done. Mine field observations have been made in the development roadways. The method for predicting the displacement of the roof rocks in the roadways behind a face has been developed. The study of the patterns of stress distribution around the protection means and their shrinkage and subsidence has further been developed. The process of deformation of rocks around the protection means has been investigated, and the condition of stability of the system "protection means - adjoining rocks" for development of protection technology, in particular, local reinforcing of rocks under the protection means, has been substantiated. The parameters of rock structures with partitions and walls, which are constructed by tape or leaving compensatory voids, have been determined and substantiated. The technology of protection of roadways by walls made of bags with rock has been improved. The parameters of combined constructions made of rock strips between the walls of the bags have been substantiated. The method of choosing protection technology and determining their parameters has been developed.
