Kovalenko O. Judicial Protection of Legitimate Interests of Individuals in Establishing (Changing) Their Legal Status

The author of the paper has proved that the provision on the possibility and procedure for establishing (changing) the legal status of an individual should be considered first of all in terms of international and legal standards, which are enshrined in many international and regulatory acts. The author has found out that the general tendency in most definitions about the notion of legal status is unjustified expansion, increase in the “catalogue’ of fundamental rights, social opportunities of individuals, ensuring their legal interests. Thus, there is increasingly widespread interpretation of such a legal phenomenon, as the legal status, which actually erodes the concept of legal status, reduces its significance in legal science.
