The dissertation is the first in the national science of civil law special complex research of the change or termination of a contract in connection with a substantial change in circumstances. The formation and development of the legislation on the change or termination of a contract in connection with a substantial change in circumstances were studied in the dissertation. The concept, grounds, conditions and peculiarities of the change or termination of a contract in connection with a substantial change of circumstances are defined. The legal nature of the change or termination of a contract is described in connection with a substantial change in circumstances. The correlation of the change or termination of a contract due to a substantial change in circumstances with related legal categories is researched. The order of change or termination of a contract in connection with a substantial change of circumstances is determined. Legal consequences of the change or termination of a contract in connection with a substantial change in circumstances under the legislation of Ukraine were investigated. The proposals on the improvement of the current civil law of Ukraine in the field of the change or termination of a contract in connection with a substantial change in circumstances are formulated.
