Tsukan O. Genesis of Transfrontier Co-operation between Europe and Ukraine (1991 - 2015): Historical and Legal Research

The thesis explores the genesis of transfrontier co-operation between Europe and Ukraine (1991-2015) by conducting complex historical and legal analysis of normative acts, bilateral interstate agreements, international conventions, national legislation of European countries and Ukraine, and also theoretical researches. The research paper has contributed to improving historical classification of transfrontier co-operation development in European countries which includes: 1 – setting the objective and design of the actions; 2 – creation of first euroregions; 3 – genesis of legal basis for transfrontier co-operation, defining key terms; 4 - establishment of legal basis for financial support of transfrontier co-operation in European countries; 5 – evolution of euroregional institutions and implementation of European neighboring and partnership policy.
