Rishko M. Ensuring the right to free legal aid in Ukraine: theoretical and legal research.

The dissertation is devoted to the complex theoretical and legal study of human rights to free legal aid and its provision in Ukraine. Much attention has been paid to the disclosure of the essence of free legal aid, the human right to free legal aid and its provision; the role of free legal aid in the mechanism of protection of human and citizen's rights and freedoms, principles of its provision in Ukraine. Particular attention has been paid to clarifying the activities of legal aid actors in Ukraine and the categories of persons entitled to receive free primary and secondary legal aid. The international legal standards, experience of socially effective and high quality legal aid with the system of legal aid in Ukraine are compared. Proposals were made regarding the improvement of certain norms of the current legislation on the extension of the list of categories of persons entitled to free secondary legal aid.
