Essay

The relevance of the topic of the dissertation research is in the need to study the opera creativity of U. Giordano as a holistic phenomenon; to study the specificity of the Italian opera of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The scientific problems are caused by the little research of the interpretation vector of the study of U. Giordano's creativity, especially by the updating of the positions of the comparative interpretation. The purpose of the study is to present a complete characteristic of U. Giordano's opera creativity with respect to the meaningful and interpretative clichés and their reflection in the stage interpretation. The analysis is presented on the material of U. Giordano’s operas “Mala Vita”, “Andrea Chenier”, “Theodora”, “Siberia”, “Marcella”, “Dinner with Jokes”, “Madame Saint-Jean”, “The King”; as well as performing versions of the tenor parties by P. Domingo, M. del Monaco, L. Pavarotti, Y. Bjorling, J. Di Stefano, Tito Beltrani, Luis Lima, Maurizio Graziani, V. Lesik, A. Zambon, Francesko P. Panni, D. Formagia, Manrico Tedeski.
