The dissertation is devoted to the study of semantic-pragmatic and stylistic potential of modern English business texts.The genre-language specificity and composition-structural organization have been clarified, the realization of the language and speech means in the English highly standardized business texts–business letters, contracts and tender documents has been characterized. The parameters of pragmatism of the business text have been ascertained: pragmatics itself as the obligatory category of each text, pragmatic contentand pragmatic effect. It has been clarified the factorsof the pragmatic potentialin the English businesstext: addressee-sender relationships, communicative intention and pragmatic setting. Representative of sender’s pragmatic settings and intentions has been proposed for all English highly standardized business texts.
