Essay

Object – multilook SAR images generation. Aim – to improve the quality of multilook SAR images in the presence of uncorrelated and correlated speckle noise by means of development of methods for homomorphic two-stage multilook filtering which fit adequately to computer systems with parallel architecture. Subject – methods of multilook SAR image filtering in the presence of speckle noise. Methods – probability theory, Markovian processes, discrete-time linear and nonlinear filtering, statistical decision-making theory and statistical computer modelling. Results – development of a method for homomorphic two-stage SAR image filtering in the presence of correlated speckle noise; development of a method for homomorphic two-stage multilook SAR image filtering in the presence of uncorrelated speckle noise; development of a method for homomorphic two-stage multilook SAR image filtering in the presence of correlated speckle noise. Implementation – in projects of “Eksimmash” Research and Development Enterprise, and in academic activity at the department of radio engineering devices and systems of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”. Application – development of SAR systems
