The dissertation is devoted to improvement of treatment of lower extremity varicose vein disease of pregnant women by optimizing the tactics of diagnostics and treatment and improvement of surgical treatment methods. The work's novelty implies a comprehensive approach to the scientific and practical task implying the improvement of life quality of pregnant women with lower extremity varicose vein disease by introducing treatment tactics based on the women's physiological state. Hereditary history analysis (n=71) revealed that varicose vein disease has a high probability rate if present in parents. Particularly, 66.7 % of the screened women had mothers, fathers or both parents suffering from it: 52.9 % of mothers had it, 29.4 % of fathers had it, and the percentage for both parents was 17.7. Varicose vein disease manifested itself in the second trimester and progressed during later terms. Ultrasonic examination revealed such vein transformations during pregnancy: thinning walls, vertical and horizontal backflows and aneurysmal dilations. After the labor, varicose vein disease responded: more prominently in proximal hip segment (31.9 %) and saphenofemoral ostium (24.6 %) and to a lesser degree in shinbone segment (9.7 %).
