The dissertation provides an explanation of the scientific task of introducing institutional security and criminal procedure apparatus for ensuring the safety of persons involved in the criminal process and proposing a number of justifications, proposals and recommendations. The dissertation considers the complex of theoretical and practical questions concerning measures of ensuring the safety of persons involved in the criminal process. The present state of the institute of ensuring safety and the history of the development of this institute is analyzed. In addition, the analysis of the development of the institution of security in foreign countries. The sources that regulate the institute for ensuring the safety of persons involved in the criminal process are investigated. The normative legal acts regulating the institute of security in Ukraine are investigated. The concept and essence of security measures are investigated. The subjects of criminal-procedural relations regarding which security measures are applied are determined. The author proposes the definition of security measures. The questions of classification and characteristics of measures of safety are generalized. The causes and grounds of application of safety measures are investigated. The forms of interaction of bodies ensuring the safety of persons in the criminal process are revealed and problems of application of safety measures and ways of their solution are determined. The prospects of improving the institution of ensuring the safety of persons involved in the criminal process are determined.
