The theoretical, methodical and practical principles of innovative development of agricultural enterprises producing grain are substantiated in the dissertation. Key features of innovations have been identified on the basis of the research results of foreign and Ukrainian scientists. The relationship between the innovation types and the phases of the economic cycle is established. The concept of "innovation" is given. The innovative type of development has been identified as an appropriate process of realizing the internal innovation potential. The explanation of the substantive and meaningful characteristics of the enterprise's innovative development is given. The conceptual bases for providing innovative development of agricultural enterprises are substantiated. The content of innovative technologies in agriculture is determined. The essence of the intellectual capital of the enterprise is considered, which structure includes the system of knowledge management, intellectual property, client and human capital. An algorithm for building a knowledge management system is proposed. The content of the innovation potential, its key characteristics and its functions are defined. The resource, internal and effective components of innovation potential are highlighted. Key features of the innovation potential typology are proposed. Structural components of innovative potential by functional orientation are distinguished: scientific-production, personnel, information, infrastructural, scientific-technological, financial, organizational-managerial, marketing. The key tendencies of grain production by agrarian enterprises of Ukraine are considered. The chronology of the evolution of the domestic grain market with the separation of periods is justified. The key factors that determine the grain market development in Ukraine are highlighted. Groups of the surveyed enterprises were constructed according to the level of profitability. Dependencies have been constructed using multiple linear regressions between the yield level, the cost of mineral fertilizers and fuel and lubricants within each group in order to substantiate the factors that determine the level of grain yield. It is determined that using the latest progressive technologies of growing cereals implies a number of measures realization that increase the cost per hectare, but reduce the cost per unit of production and improve quality. The institutional support tendencies of enterprises innovative development of grain producers are determined. Procedures for directions identification of enterprises innovative activity stimulation are developed. It is justified to evaluate the efficiency of agricultural production based on the combination and interaction of four factors (labor, fixed assets, labor and land) based on the following types of efficiency: technological, economic and social. The system of complex efficiency estimation of innovative resource-saving technologies is provided. The content of resource-saving technologies and their role in innovative development are determined. It is proved that resource saving is able to provide transition to intensive type of management, which is the content of innovative development. The structural scheme of innovative resource-saving technologies introduction of grain production by agricultural enterprises is provided. A methodological approach is given to substantiate the type of resource-saving technologies from alternatives to the use of foreign production techniques, best samples or traditional domestic technology based on a set of indicators of social, economic and technological efficiency for individual cereals.
