Essay

Object – the process of teaching students of social and humanitarian profile in the institutions of higher education; aim – to find out the influence of the didactic conditions of application of information and communication technologies substantiated in the research on the quality of students’ learning; methods – theoretical, empirical, of pedagogical experiment, of mathematical statistics; novelty – the research is the first to theoretically substantiate and experimentally test the efficiency of the didactic conditions of application of the information and communication technologies in training students of social and humanitarian profile; the potential options for using ICT in the process of training students of social and humanitarian profile are specified; the terms "information and communication technologies", "specialists of social and humanitarian profile", "the process of training students of social and humanitarian profile", "didactic conditions of application of ICT in the process of training students", "the quality of education of students" are defined; the criteria and indicators of the quality of education of students of social and humanitarian profile are determined; such issues dealing with the application of ICTs in the learning process as QR codes, Nearpod online learning platform, word tag services, intelligence maps, Google Docs and on-line testing tools have been further studied; results – the didactic conditions of application of ICT in the process of training students of the social and humanitarian profile have been substantiated, their efficiency has been tested in the institutions of higher education and they are recommended for the implementation in the higher education teaching process. The teaching manual “Didactic materials on the application of information and communication technologies in teaching students of social and humanitarian profile in higher education institutions” has been published. The theoretical ideas and practical recommendations will be helpful for working out course programmes, teaching aids and methodological guides for the organization of students' independent learning activities ; field – pedagogy.
