The dissertation research for the first time made a complex theoretical generalization and proposed the solution of a scientific problem, which consists in the identification and study of new ideas and tendencies of axiological foundations of the development of modern university education. The mission of the university as an educational socio-cultural institution is defined as the subject of philosophical and legal analysis, on which there is a possible legal substantiation of the humanistic orientation of university education. The author has proved that the prerogative of the modern institution of higher education in Ukraine should be to ensure the implementation and implementation of the educational process of legislative initiatives and decisions, to promote the training of highly qualified specialists, whose level of knowledge will meet the needs of the socio-economic development of society and determine their competitiveness at the national level. and international labor markets.
