This thesis substantiates the theoretical and practical significance of the involvement of the conceptual-terminological apparatus of narratology for the analysis of the governance discourse and the improvement of public-administration activity. We have completed a comprehensive analysis of the prospects of public administration research on the basis of methodological principles of narratology, which significantly extends the tools for monitoring, systematization, and the content description of administration connections, methods of their reference, types of modality, parameters and rules of actor-network identification. We have actualized the concept of the discursive space of governing and narrative discourse, as well as the importance of their conceptualization for the improvement of managerial discourse and managerial mentality. We have defined the theoretical and methodological approach to the model of governance as a construction of narrative intrigue, identification and schematization of which stimulates the effectiveness of organizing and streamlining the events of the administration process and democratic legitimization of the subjects of governance. We have proved the heuristic value of involving the theory of narrative identity for the optimization of identity management and the formation of innovation policy on the basis of a model of good governance. We have suggested the mechanisms of formatting of strategic narratives as effective factors of activation of deliberative discourse in Ukraine. Key words: public administration, governance, governance model, narratology, narrative model, discursive space of governance, narrative discourse, narrative identity, narrative intrigue, strategic narrative, managerial mentality, managerial discourse.
