The dissertation presents a solution to an urgent scientific and practical problem, which is to increase the environmental safety of engineering enterprises by improving the schemes for the disposal and treatment of storm drains, and reducing their load on the environment. For the first time, the scientific foundations of creating an algorithm for determining the concentrations of harmful substances in stormwater from separate drainage areas have been laid, which allows predicting the environmental hazard of engineering enterprises. The use of electrochemical methods for the treatment of storm drains from the territory of industrial enterprises is investigated, a mathematical model is developed, and the laws of the process of cleaning storm drains of machine-building enterprises by electrocoagulation are established. A new design of the electrochemical cleaning apparatus is proposed, which reduces the concentration of oil products and heavy metal compounds to the level of environmental hazard. The storm water drainage systems of machine-building enterprises have been improved by dividing them into weakly and heavily polluted, and substantiation of practical recommendations has been made to improve their treatment systems, which includes the stages of sedimentation, electrocoagulation treatment, followed by settling, which allows achieving various degrees of treatment for use at the enterprise.
