Donii V. Literary work of O. Dovzhenko in the dimension of postcolonial discourse.

The thesis provides complex comprehension and systematic analysis of the literary work by O. Dovzhenko through the prism of postcolonial theory. The specificity of functioning in the context of the «power discourse» has been determined, and the anticolonial strategy of the imperial discourse revision has been characterized. In particular, the methodology of researches of texts, in which the imperial and anti-imperial writer’s position is correlated, has been outlined; the literary strategies of resistance to colonial discourse, the textual markers of imperial leadings and the particularity of their implementation in the literary plane of works have been analyzed thoroughly; mechanisms, forms and content of individual-authorial reorientations due to socio-political and historical phenomena have been distinguished. The proposed post-colonial reading, destroying the hierarchy of traditional thinking, builds new perspectives on the multifaceted revision of O. Dovzhenko's work, created in the imperial conditions of supervision and dictatorship.
