Essay

The dissertation defines and considers the periods of activity of the department of ethnography and folk crafts from the foundation of the Volyn Regional Museum in 1929 to 2018. Characterization of the subject composition of the ethnographic collection is carried out. Trends in the introduction of new forms and methods of communication with visitors are noted. The problems of museum work which arose on the way of development of the institution in modern conditions are outlined. The role of researchers of the department of ethnography and crafts in the processes of preserving, studying and updating the monuments of national cultural heritage is highlighted.
