Essay

The thesis focuses on the identification of the linguocultural, text-forming and gender characteristics of the English and German reviews in film criticism; presents the comparative analysis of the structures of the key concepts of the conceptual sphere “cinematographic activity” as reflected in English and German reviews as well as pinpoints the linguocultural characteristics of the evaluation of acting. The work also proves that the text-forming communicative strategies, tactics and speech moves implemented in the texts of the reviews in film criticism reflect the linguocultural characteristics of speech behaviour. There have been found convergent and divergent linguocultural and gender characteristics of speech behaviour with the help of quantitative calculations as well as the comparative analysis of the specific weight of the speech moves within appropriate communicative tactics in the female and male English and German reviews in film criticism.
