Essay

University education of the USA is the research object. The research aim is to identify peculiarities of professional training of Bachelors of Arts in Journalism at the US universities and determine the possibilities of using progressive ideas of the US experience in the university education of Ukraine. The research methods: analysis and synthesis, induction, deduction, comparison, methods of system-structural and system-functional analysis, extrapolation method, conversations, dialogues, interviewing. For the first time the peculiarities of professional training of Bachelors of Arts in Journalism at the US universities have been identified; professional training of Bachelors of Arts in Journalism has been presented as a scientific and pedagogical issue; organizational and pedagogical conditions of professional training of Bache-lors of Arts in Journalism have been revealed; on the basis of comparative peda-gogical analysis, common and distinctive features of professional training of Bachelor of Arts in Journalism in the USA and Ukraine have been identified; the possibilities of using constructive ideas of the US experience of professional train-ing of Bachelor of Arts in Journalism in the university education system of Ukraine have been outlined. The content and specifics of the professional training organiza-tion of Bachelors of Arts in Journalism have been clarified. Regulations on the or-ganization of professional training of future specialists in the field of journalism through the collaboration of universities with governmental and nongovernmental organizations, the local community and potential employers; integrated use of tradi-tional and innovative teaching methods, in particular, case study, “field training method”, service learning have gained further development.
