Essay

The dissertation is revealed of the theoretical foundations of the genesis and transformations of the psychological type of legal understanding. The historiography of the study of the phenomenon of psychological type of legal understanding is presented. Understanding legal reality is an indispensable tool for revealing the anthropic essence of law in all eras of human history. In the early twentieth century the world-renowned lawyer L. Petrazhytsky summarized the information on the instrumental possibilities of psychological knowledge for the knowledge of legal reality. The next stage in the doctrinal development of the psychological theory of law is limited in time to the creativity of the immediate students of the founder of this theory. The third stage is the promotion and development of psychological and legal ideas by the followers of this theory in all highly developed countries of the world.
