The dissertation research is devoted to a comprehensive historical and legal study of the formation and development of specialized courts on Ukrainian lands as part of the Russian Empire in the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries.The theoretical and methodological foundations of the study are determined, a historical and legal analysis of the sources of this problem is carried out. The features of understanding the essence of the system of specialized jurisdiction are indicated. The prerequisites and reasons for the preservation of old and the creation of new specialized courts on Ukrainian lands that were under the rule of the Russian Empire during the reform period are identified; The features of the legal proceedings and the specifics of the substantive law applied by them established for specialized courts have been clarified.
