Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the definition of clinical and neurological patterns, development and justification of effective schemes of pathogenetic therapy of paroxysmal conditions in chronic alcoholic encephalopathy. The main neurological syndromes of chronic alcoholic encephalopathy with paroxysmal conditions have been identified: atactic, akinetic-rigid, polyneuropathic, pseudobulbar and non-epileptic paroxysmal conditions. Clinical and anamnestic regularities of development of paroxysmal states (in the form of bilateral tonic-clonic seizures, syncopal states, autonomic paroxysms, psychosensory non-epileptic seizures, secondary non-epileptic myoclonus, conversion paroxysms and cramps) have been established. The the EEG of chronic alcoholic encephalopathy are distinguished, which are characteristic for the majority of the examined. EEG patterns of paroxysmal states, which are characteristic of most patients with chronic alcoholic encephalopathy elucidated. Specific neurological markers of tremor in alcoholic encephalopathy have been identified. The presence of markers of three types of attacks in chronic AE has been clinically proven: tonic-clonic, tonic and clonic. Based on the established psychoneurological, personality-neurological, neurophysiological and other features, clinical-neurological regularities were determined and effective schemes of pathogenetic therapy of paroxysmal conditions in chronic alcoholic encephalopathy were developed and substantiated with determination of the positive effect of ethylmethylhydroxypyridine succinate therapy and acupuncture.
