Essay

The dissertation is dedicated to the improvement of prediction of the course of acute coronary syndrome in presence of atrial firillation on the backgroung of the investigation of clinical-instrumental and biochemical factors interrelations. To achieve this goal, a study was conducted among 125 patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) which have been hospitalized in the Center for percutaneous coronary interventions of the "Regional Clinical Hospital" of Kharkiv city during the period of 2015–2018. The mean age of patients was 64,82 ± 10,77 years, there were 78 (62,4 %) males. Depending on the presence of AF, patients with ACS were divided into 2 groups: group 1 (n = 65) — patients with ACS and AF, group 2 (n = 60) — patients with ACS without AF. Patients with ACS and AF were divided into two subgroups: subgroup 1a — patients with ACS, in which the clinical course of the acute period was complicated by the development of AF (n = 51; 77,3 %) and subgroup 1b — patients with AF, known before ACS (n = 14; 22,7 %). Along with the common laboratory tests, in all patients the level of NT proBNP was evaluated using immunoassay analysis. The coronarography of right and left coronary arteries (CA) have been performed in standard projections. Echocardiographic research has been performed according to standard protocol. In 24 (18; 40) months from the study entry the data regarding the vital status of patients (all-cause mortality) were collected by phone from patients and their relatives.
