Essay

The dissertation is devoted to optimizing the diagnostics and treatment of patients with the combination of type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) and osteoporosis (OP) living under anthropogenic stress, based on the study of oxidative stress, bone metabolism, carbohydrate metabolism their interrelation and inclusion of thiotriazolin into the basic therapy. It has been established that living in an industrial region contributes to the intensification of oxidative status in patients with type 2 diabetes combined with OP. An interrelation between the increase in oxidative stress markers and the decrease of bone mineral density in this category of patients has been defined. It has been established that the progress of OP in patients with type 2 diabetes is characterized by bone metabolism deceleration. The interrelation of the oxidative stress indicators, carbohydrate metabolism and bone metabolism was revealed. It was demonstrated that the use of thiotriazolin along with basic therapy in patients with type 2 diabetes and OP is accompanied by a significant decrease in markers of oxidative stress, bone resorption, increased osteosynthesis and bone mineral density.
