Essay

The dissertation is devoted to improvement of diagnostics of reparative osteogenesis in jaw bones affected by radicular cysts in patients with different mineral exchange status and improvement of methods of their surgical treatment. A screening method for the diagnosis of osteoregenerative potential of the jawbone affected by radicular cysts in patients with different mineral metabolism by measuring bone optical density on digital orthopantomograms has been developed. A statistically significant increase of trabecular structures in the areas of the jaws undergoing chronic exposure from the radicular cysts was revealed. On the background of age-related disorders of mineral metabolism in women in bone tissue and jawbone periosteum , the expression of alkaline phosphatase decreases, the activity of acidic phosphatase increases and, as a consequence, the bone resorption in the areas of the jaws adjacent to the radicular cysts, which manifests morphologically, increases. Following the use of piezoelectric technique for enucleation of the mandibular cysts, the incidence of traumatic neuropathy of the lower alveolar nerve is statistically significantly reduced. The duration of reparative osteogenesis in post-cystic defects of the jaws depends on their size, applied osteoplastic materials and the state of mineral metabolism in patients. An effective method of treating large - sized post - cystic defects of jaws in postmenopausal women with osteoporosis is the use of cultured periosteal autocells placed on «Kolapol KP – 2».
