The thesis for the degree of candidate of technical sciences, specialty 21.06.01–ecological safety. – Research Organization "Ukrainian Scientific Research Institute of Ecological Problems", Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine, Kharkiv, 2020. The thesis focuses on the development of the method for assessing the quality of soil reclamation on drilling pads of oil-gas wells applying remote sensing techniques (on the example of oil- gas fields of the Dnieper-Donets depression) in order to enhance environmental safety of hydrocarbon production regions of Ukraine. Hydrocarbon production technologies have been analyzed and their environmental effects on soils have been determined. A method of soil reclamation quality assessment on oil-gas wells drilling sites using Earth remote sensing data has been developed. The use of relationship between albedo and characteristic function of pollutants presented in the reclaimed soil has been theoretically justified and experimentally confirmed as a technique for estimation of soil reclamation quality by means of remote sensing. Specificity of soil contamination has been scientifically investigated basing on soil geochemical analyzes within the reclaimed sites. Ensuring environmental safety is achieved by improving the accuracy of identification of reclamation objects and efficiency of decision-making to prevent the negative effects of oil and gas production processes, providing information support for integrated environmental monitoring system. Key words: ecological safety, fields, oil and gas production, environment, soil, reclamation, environmental monitoring, satellite imagery, implementation.
