Essay

The thesis deals with the issues of improving efficacy of diagnosis and treatment of patients with arterial hypertension based on the study of instrumental data and indices of peroxide lipid oxidation, antioxidant activity, cortisol levels, markers of endothelial dysfunction and gas transmitters in physical load and substantiating expediency of using antioxidants – vitamin E and selenium – in complex therapy of the disease. It has been shown that after physical load, a reliable decrease in non-protein SH-groups occurs, as well as increase in malondialdehyde in plasma, its active form and restored glutathione of erythrocyte is observed. After veloergometry, a reliable increase in the levels of hydrogen sulphide and L-arginine is observed, reduction of nitrite anion level. Scientific data have been complemented on the issue that NO synthesis is diminished in individuals with hypertension disease due to physical load; vasodilation and vasoprotection are accomplished due to elevation of hydrogen sulphide level. It has been established that the level of C-reactive protein increases after physical load in patients with initial stages of atherosclerosis development. The obtained results prove that it is expedient to use vitamin E in combination with Selen to correct antioxidant protection both before and after physical load.
