Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the consideration of archetypal properties and semantic content of the phenomenon of the image-mask as a national-stylistic paradigm in musical-theatrical and opera art. The operatic works of European composers are studied, the plot outline of which is connected with the phenomenon of the mask, and the general dramatic solution is based on national musical and theatrical traditions. The evolution of the concept of "archetype" in historical and cultural contexts can be traced: from the first ideas to the theoretical developments of the XX-XXI centuries. Archetypal models of the mask image in European and Eastern national-musical cultures are analyzed. The connection of the phenomenon of the mask image with the concept of the archetype, through which the mechanism of the functional use of the figurative model of the mask in opera is revealed, is considered. The interaction of opera art with national musical and theatrical traditions, in which the mask is the main representative of the artistic and figurative complex, is studied. The significance of the tendency of carnivalization in K. Penderetsky's operatic poetics is substantiated.
